With windows overlooking both the front and the (open air) lobby of the building, the interior was bright with light. Featured at the ordering counter is a case containing ready-to-go boxed meals of their house specialties, along with a large cookie selection, including decorated sugar cookies. The cases and the menu were very similar to Celebrity Cafe & Bakery at Preston/Royal, but there is much more table space and a room to the side that could hold a group of 20 - 24 people. It seemed like a great place to have a meeting, and am going to keep it in mind for the future. Overall, my chicken salad was a great value, and very tasty; service was friendly and fast.
Preston/Forest has certainly seen a "food explosion" over the last few years, this opening brings the total number of places you can get something to eat to 25. Fine dining (The Mercury), Greek (Ziziki's), American Grill (Woodland Grill), Spanish-kind-of (Chic by Barcelona), Italian (Prego Express, Penne Pomodoro), Tex-Mex (Mi Cocina), Asian (KU Sushi, Pei Wei), seafood (TJ's Fish Market, Mainstream-soon to be Rockfish), coffeehouse (Starbucks), subs (Quizno's, Potbelly's, Jimmy John's), cafe (Corner Bakery, LaMadeleine, Chocolate Angel II), salads (Snappy Salads), barbecue (Sonny Bryan's), hamburgers (Scotty P's), gelateria (Paciugo), fast food (Jack in the Box), and grocers (Whole Foods, Tom Thumb).
Guess there's many of us in the area that enjoy eating out.

I went there today and had a grilled pimento cheese sandwich that was awesome. The cakes and pies looked good as well. Very relaxing, comfortable atmosphere.
I ate at the new Chocolate Angel Too at Preston & Forest today... it is my new favorite place to eat. Everything was delicious and the friendly service was appreciated. Try the strawberry/pretzil salad - it is to die for!!!
I had their Sampler plate with the Broccoli Salad that was AMAZING!The service was friendly and fast!
I haven't tried this location yet, but assuming they have the same menu as the other locations, the combo plate w/ curry chicken salad w/ dried cranberries, the house salad, and strawberry pretzel salad all on the same plate is magnificent. I also love the little scones that come on the plate. Yum!! I'm so happy to have one so close to home!
I visited Chocolate Angel last week, and absolutely fell in love with the red velvet cake (blogged about it over on DallasEats). Thanks for the heads-up!
What a disappointment! I love the Richardson location, and expected the same service and ambiance at the Preston/Forest location. This place has a cafeteria-type line, like Poncho's; you can't see the food from the line. There are no printed menu's, the only one is on the wall. You are supposed to look up and over your should er while standing in line. The person who takes the orders never looks at you. The woman who took my order slammed 2 heaby glasses at me for my drink without noticing or caring that I was pushing a wheelchair. The tables were too low to push the WC under, so she had to eat several inches from the table, which was awkward at best. The little muffins were tasty, but fresh from the refrigerator. The food tastes the same as the lovely tea room in Richardson but the expereince is far below. Too bad.
I am very disappointed in this location, the Richardson store is so much better! The pretzel salad isn't the same and everything is just not as good on quality terms. Its a pretty store though.
I stopped by yesterday and was very disappointed. I felt I was interrupting the staff while I was ordering. The iced tea was served in styro cups and I was given a table number stand like Jason's Deli. The salad was ok but nothing to write about. Not anxious to go back.
